Having no more than 2-3 words in your domain name is best, so people remember your domain name and type it correctly.

The only characters allowed are letters, digits and a hyphen (-).

Spaces are not allowed.

The name should be between 3 and 63 characters long. www. is not actually part of the domain name.

Domain Names are NOT cAsE sEnSiTiVe – so abc.com is the same as ABC.com.

A domain backorder is a service that will try to order a domain that is already registered with someone else the moment that the domain becomes available.

The domain may become available if the owner decides not to renew it, and you will be notified of its availability.

There is no guarantee that placing a backorder will secure you the domain.

There is very little difference between the .com.au and the .net.au.

The .net.au was previously used for information technology type services but many businesses choose the .net.au, if the Domain Name they are after, is not available with the .com.au.

It is for this reason, that purchasing the .net.au domain, will protect your branding and stop a competitor setting up the same business using the .net.au.
